Aerospacestructural analysis.

I'm Berkay Kuşkıra, Lead Structural Analysis Engineer at Turkish Aerospace Industries. I work on metallic and composite aircraft structures from concept layout through certification: static strength, stability, fatigue and damage tolerance, and lightweight design. Current focus is a next-generation fighter-jet programme.

Focus

What the work covers.

Six threads of one discipline: keeping aircraft structure light, strong and safe for its whole service life.

  1. 01

    Static Strength & Stability

Sizing metallic and composite primary structure against strength, buckling and post-buckling requirements.

  2. 02

    Fatigue & Damage Tolerance

Slow-crack-growth and fail-safe substantiation of fracture- and durability-critical parts.

  3. 03

    Composite & Lightweight Structures

Lay-up design, weight-reduction studies and structural optimisation, from a rudder re-lay to a CFRP rim thesis.

  4. 04

    GFEM-Driven Sizing

Internal-load extraction, detailed sub-models and allowables feeding the global sizing loop.

  5. 05

    Joints, Details & Hand Calcs

Bolted joints, lugs, cut-outs and fillets substantiated with classical hand calculations, reconciled against detailed FE and test data.

  6. 06

    Method & Tool Development

Python tooling for the stress group: automated FE post-processing, standardised workbooks and optimisation-driven sizing trades.

About

Fighter, trainer and eVTOL programmes, from concept sizing to detail substantiation.

Lead Structural Analysis Engineer at Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), working on metallic and composite aircraft primary structure since 2017 (9+ years). The work covers the whole stress discipline: static strength and stability, fatigue and damage tolerance, composite and lightweight design, GFEM-based sizing and structural optimisation.Currently leads the durability and damage tolerance (DaDT) work package on a fighter-jet programme and, since late 2025, analysis method and tool development in the stress group.Earlier work covers EASA CS-23 certification stress analysis on the Hürkuş trainer (forward fuselage, and the rudder weight-reduction study), GFEM-based sizing of fighter primary structure, and preliminary landing-gear and eVTOL structural studies.Day to day that means stress reports taken through release, sizing and weight trade studies, crack-growth and fail-safe assessments, and non-conformance dispositions agreed with the loads, design and test teams.

These pages collect the work: a resume, a portfolio, and a 3D city built around the same CV for anyone who would rather drive through it.
